Lament of her who is separated from Him

Previous pASuras were tAi pASuras. Now parakAla nAyaki herself speaks. The mother asked Him why should He take her bangles. The daughter then suddenly looked at her hands and found the bangles missing. Now she laments “Ah! i have lost my bangles!” not once but nine times. She expresses her agony about He not coming for samlESha.

1. karai eDutta suri sangum kanapavaLattezhu koDiyum
tirai eDuttu varu punal soozh tirukkaNNapurattu uraiyum|
virai eDutta tuzhAi alangal viral varai tOL puDai peyara
varai eDutta perumAnukku izhandEn en varivaLaiyE ||

parakAla nAyaki laments – “Ah! i lost my beautiful bangles to Him who wears fragrant tuzhasi mAla, who has mountain like shoulders that lifted gOvardhana mountain like an umbrella. He resides in tirukkaNNapuram which is surrounded by water that bring curved SanKas, coral creepers etc., to the city.

teri variya maNimADa tirukkaNNapurattu uraiyum |
vari aravin aNaittuyinru mazhai madatta siru taru kaN
kari veruva marupposittArku izhandEn en kanavaLaiyE ||

tirukkaNNapuram is the divya dESa where there are huge mansions with gems studded walls looking like mountains; where the sky is dark with huge rain-clouds and ahil smoke resembling mountains in the air. Here resides emberumAn who broke the tusk of the huge mad wild elephant kuvaLayApeeDa. To Him i lost my gold bangles.

3. tunga mAmaNimADa neDu muhaTTin soolihai pOm
tingaL mA muhil tuNikkum tirukkaNNapurattu uraiyum |
paingaN mAl viDai aDarttu pani madi kOL viDuttu uhanda
sengaN mAl ammAnukku izhadEn en seri vaLaiyE ||

The divya dESa tirukkaNNapuram is full of tall buildings on the top of which sharp spears are fixed (to ward off evils) that pierce the moon and cuts the huge clouds when they move over them. Here resides my swAmi who defeated the seven huge wild bulls for the sake of nappinnaipirATTi and who rescued the moon god from the danger of curse and felt happy about it. i lost my bangles to this puNDareekAkSha. On thinking of Him i suddenly became lean and bangles fell down from my hands.

tiNamaruvu kanamadiL soozh tirukkaNNapurattu uraiyum |
maNa maruvu tOL Aichchi Arkka pOi uralODum
puNar marudam ira naDandArku izhandEn en ponvaLaiyE ||

parakAla nAyaki continuous – He resides in tirukkaNNapuram where there are fragrant forests in which peacocks dance in groups; where there are beautiful streets and golden forts. My emberumAn who was bound by a cord to a mortar by Aichchi yaSOda for the offence He had committed, crawled between the twin maruda trees to fell them. He caused me great agony resulting in my losing the gold bangles.

5. vAi eDutta mandirattAl andaNar tam sei tozhilhaL
tee eDuttu marai vaLarkkum tirukkaNNapurattu uraiyum |
tAi eDutta siru kOlukku uLaindODi tayir uNDa
vAi tuDaitta maindanukku izhandEn en varivaLaiyE ||

kriShNa was eating the stolen butter. yaSOda caught Him in the act, took a small cane to beat Him. kaNNan ran away fearing beaten by her. He ran into the street where He was seen by the passers by who made fun of Him saying “Hey! kaNNa! You have stolen butter and eating it. See it is sticking in Your mouth”. kaNNan in order to remove the trace of it wiped His mouth with hands dipped in butter bowl. His whole face was smeared with butter. This lovely innocent gOpAla kriShNa stolen my heart and caused the bangles to slip away from my hands. He resides in tirukkaNNapuram where there are vaidika brAhmaNas who diligently perform the agni karmas daily thus protecting the vEdic heritage.

6. maDaleDutta neDuntAzhai marungellAm vaLar pavaLam
tiDal eDuttu suDar imaikkum tirukkaNNapurattu uraiyum |
aDal aDarttu anru iraNiyanai muraN azhiya aNi uhirAl
uDal eDutta perumAnukku izhandEn en oLivaLaiyE ||

narasimhamoorti killed hiraNyAsura with His sharp nails since he committed BAgavata apachAra against prahlAda. i lost my bangles to Him who resides in tirukkaNNapuram where there are forests with tall tAzhai plants around which coral creepers spread shining brightly in the sunlight.

7. vaNDamarum malar punnai vari neezhal aNi muttam
teN tiraihaL vara tiraTTum tirukkaNNapurattu uraiyum |
eN tisaiyum ezhu kaDalum iru nilanum peru visumbum
uNDu umzhinda perumAnukku izhandEn en oLivaLaiyE ||

parakAla nAyaki says – i lost my bangles to Him who swallowed the seven worlds, seven mountains, seven seas, eight directions and all that is created and again manifested them during creation. He resides in tirukkaNNapuram where the river brings beautiful pearls and heaps them under the punnai trees on whose flowers the bees settle to drink honey.

8. kongu mali karunguvaLai kaNNAha teN kaingaL
sengamala muham malarttum tirukkaNNapurattu uraiyum |
vangamali taDangaDaluL vari aravin aNai tuyinra
sengamala nAbanukku izhandEn en serivaLaiyE ||

parakAla nAyaki continues – to the sengamala nABa who lies on tiruppArkaDal over the cool tiruanandAzhwAn i lost my beautiful bangles. He resides in tirukkaNNapuram where there are beautiful clear water ponds in which karuneidal and red lotuses resemble the eyes and faces of the women who reside there.

9. vArALum iLankongai neDum paNaittOL maDappAvai
seerALum varai mArvan tirukkaNNapurattu uraiyum |
pErALan Ayiram pEr Ayira vAi aravaNai mEl
pErALar perumAnukku izhandEn en peivaLaiyE ||

periyapirATTi who has soft breasts bound by a band; who has bamboo like arms; who has very pleasant Atma guNas and who is very beautiful like doll does nitya vAsa in the tirumArbu (of emberumAn) which is mountain like and beautiful. He who has thousand names lies on tiruanandAzhwAn who has thousand faces. To this dEvAdi dEva i lost my beautiful bangles.

10. tEmaruvu pozhil uDai soozh tirukkaNNapurattu uraiyum
vAmananai mari kaDal soozh vayalAli vaLanADan |
kAmaru seer kali kanri kaNDuraitta tamizh mAlai
nAmaruvi ivai pADa vinaiyAya naNNAvE ||

tirumangai AzhwAr, the chief of tiruvAli which has beautiful fields and is surrounded by seas, has sung these ten pASuras in tamizh on emberumAn residing in tirukkaNNapuram which is a beautiful divya dESa surrounded on all sides by green forests full of honey-laden flowers spreading their aroma every where. Those who read these pASuras and sing them with BAva will be rid of all there pApas.
